Drivetrain
The drivetrain of the GRC was designed in house by Toyota. It features a 1.6l 3 cylinder engine (G16E-GTS). The horizontally mounted engine is paired to either a 6 speed manual transmission or an 8 speed automatic (2025+). The GRC utilizes a front and rear differentials with a Intelligent Torque Controlled Coupling (ITCC) in between. The AWD system can switch between 60/40, 50/50, or 70/30 front to rear torque split.
